Storage & Shelf Life

Proper storage is essential to maintain the freshness and effectiveness of your mushroom cultivation supplies. Below are best practices for storing both our sterilized grow bags and liquid cultures to ensure maximum shelf life and minimal contamination risk.

Grow Bags
Store mushroom grow bags in a cool, dark, and dry spacesuch as a closet or cabinet. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, heat, or moisture. Do not refrigerate. When stored properly, our pre-sterilized bags remain viable for up to 3 months, though we recommend using them within 30–45 days for best results.

Liquid Cultures
Liquid cultures must be refrigerated immediately upon arrival. Store at 35°F to 41°F (1.5°C to C) and keep the syringe sealed and sterile until use. When refrigerated properly, our liquid cultures can remain viable for 6 months to 1 year, depending on the strain and storage conditions. If left at room temperature, shelf life will drop significantly, and contamination becomes more likely.

Before use, always inspect your materials. Signs of contamination may include cloudiness, discoloration, or off smells. If you’re unsure whether your product is still good, contact our team — we’re here to help and back every order with our contamination-free guarantee.
